Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Karico. We have written them to be read, not to be skipped.
1. Who you are contracting with

2. What Karico does
Karico is a training log that computes the load for your next set from the repetitions you actually performed, in the increments your equipment has. It also keeps a food diary, a progression system with levels and challenges, and a leaderboard limited to your own gym.
By using Karico you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.
3. Karico is not a doctor
This is the most important thing on this page.
Karico is a tool for organising training. It is not a medical device, it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, a physiotherapist or a qualified coach.
- The loads Karico suggests are calculated from the numbers you enter. They do not take into account your health, your injuries, your technique or how you feel today.
- You decide what to lift. The app proposes; you are responsible for what you actually do.
- Talk to a doctor before starting or changing a training programme, especially if you have a medical condition, are recovering from an injury, are pregnant, or have been inactive for a long time.
- Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness or discomfort, and seek medical attention.
- The nutrition figures are indicative and come from a public food database. They are not a dietary plan and are not suitable for anyone with a medical condition that requires a supervised diet.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude.
4. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Karico.
Karico asks you for no registration and no password: the app identifies your device on its own, and you may optionally link your Apple ID so your data follows you to a new phone. Keep that Apple ID safe, and tell us as soon as possible if you think someone else is using your account.
The information you enter — your gym, your equipment, your body measurements — is what makes the calculations meaningful. If it is wrong, the suggestions will be wrong too.
5. Your data belongs to you
Your training history, your measurements and your food diary are yours. We hold them to make the service work and we handle them as described in the Privacy Policy.
You can delete your account and everything in it from the app settings, at any time, without asking us. A portable copy of your data — everything Karico holds about you, as a file — is one tap away in the same settings, on both platforms.
6. The Journey, levels and rewards
XP, levels, badges, frames, medals and titles are part of a game layer inside the app.
- They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged.
- They exist only inside Karico and only for as long as your account does.
- We may adjust how the progression works — for balance, or when we add content. Rewards you have already earned stay yours.
Boss challenges are self-reported. Karico takes your word for it. There is no way for us to verify a plank or a set of pull-ups, and we do not try to. If you report something you did not do, the only person you are cheating is yourself.
7. What is free and what is not
Karico is free to start. Three training plans, the whole Journey and the barcode scanner do not cost anything and are not a trial.
Some features are premium and are paid for with a subscription, monthly or yearly. There are no one-off purchases.
- Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see your payment details.
- Prices are shown in the app before you confirm, inclusive of applicable taxes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. Ask them first; if something goes wrong, write to us and we will help.
Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. That right is lost once the content is made available to you immediately with your express consent — which is what happens when you buy a premium feature and start using it right away. You give that consent at the moment of purchase.
8. How you may use Karico
Use it for your own training. Do not:
- Attempt to access other users' data, or the leaderboard of a gym you do not attend
- Copy, decompile or resell any part of the app
- Automate the app, or falsify data to manipulate the leaderboard
- Use Karico for anything unlawful
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, we tell you first.
9. Availability
We work to keep Karico running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. Maintenance, updates and problems at our providers can interrupt the service.
Your data lives on your device, not on our servers, so an interruption of the service does not lose your training history — and the app keeps working without a connection.
We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue something important, we give reasonable notice and, where a paid feature is involved, a proportionate refund.
10. Our liability
We are liable for damage caused by our failure to meet these terms, up to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the event — or, if you have never paid us anything, up to fifty euro.
This limit does not apply to:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- our own fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence
- your statutory rights as a consumer, which nothing here reduces
We are not liable for how you train, for injuries resulting from exercises you choose to perform, or for decisions you take about your diet.
11. Intellectual property
The app, its design, its texts, the Journey, the badge names and the Karico name and logo belong to us. Using the app does not give you any right over them.
What you enter into Karico stays yours.
12. Changes to these terms
We can update these terms — for example when we add features or when the law changes. If a change matters to you, we tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you can close your account.
13. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from the app settings. Your data is erased within 30 days, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
We can close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
14. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Italian law.
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings before the court of your own place of residence. Nothing here takes that away.
